Bible Fellowship

Seasons of the Spirit is a lectionary-based Bible study curriculum which follows the seasons of the liturgical year.  Beginning with Bible Fellowship at 9:30 and continuing with Worship at 10:45, Sunday mornings at First Baptist offer an integrated experience of study, fellowship and praise.

BIBLE FELLOWSHIP FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Adults

Our College class meets for lunch and Bible study immedately following worship each Sunday.   They are led by Tom Coffey, Sally Goodwin and Paul Sims.

The Shepherd's Flock is a co-ed class of young adults, single and married. Bible study centers on contemporary life issues with informal, open discussion. There is warm, open fellowship. Class leaders are Ron and Nancy Sumrow and Denise Hopper. Meet us in Room 312.

Sojourners is a creative, thoughtful class for adults led by Gerhard and Susanne Ungerer.  Join them in Room 320.

Joy/Agape is a community-minded group of couples and singles encompassing a wide range of ages.   Each discussion session is led by one of the team teachers -- Larry Tuggle, Vickie Tuggle, Joel Myers or Kiki Myers. A time for prayer concerns is included. We exist to serve those we meet and to make God known to them. Come to Room 309.

Then-n-Now is a fun-loving group of couples and singles.  Class leaders are Rabon Duck, Thirby Harrill, and Harvey Whitley. The class enjoys frequent social events. Meets in Room 306/308.

The Mountain Climbers class is a class of couples and singles led by Babs Simpson and Alvin Kilby in Room 318.

Tapestries is a smaller group of singles and couples offering warm fellowship.  They stay in close contact with each other and enjoy occasional social activity. Teachers are Carol Tyson and Ken Thomas. Join them in Room 316.

Forefront is a co-ed class of mixed age which seeks to be at the "forefront" in the celebration of Christian life. The class starts on time, sings a hymn, shares prayer concerns and has a devotional thought just before the lesson. Join class leaders Joe Litaker, Bob Duncan and Katherine Cox in Room 214.

The Men's Bible Class is a distinguished gentlemen's class taught by Mark Eagle and Tim McBride. Time is also given to a devotional, prayer requests and prayer, and a discussion of current events. The group meets in the Parlor (Ground Floor).

Youth

Middle and High School Youth are led by Ministry Interns David Mosely and Sarah Poindexter.

Preschoolers and Children

Our Preschool and Children's classes have been redesigned to follow a rotation model in which students will experience a Bible Story through "learning centers" such as Storytelling, Music, Art, Cooking, Games, Science, and Movies. The goal is for the children to learn more about God's love for them through the rich stories of the Bible experienced in a variety of ways.

September -- "Who Is Jesus?"

October -- "Jesus and the Children"

November -- "Forgiveness"

December -- "Isaiah Fulfilling the Prophecy"
